Profile of skills and competences

A technical insulator who has finished an apprenticeship and is thus the holder of a journeyman’s certificate is able to:

  • Independently and at an advanced level execute all work processes within technical insulation while observing applicable environmental and safety regulations
  • Plan, organise and execute the work technically and financially appropriately and in consideration of applicable practice, standards, laws and regulations

Range of occupations accessible to the holder of the certificate

The qualified technical insulator insulates all kinds of facilities to prevent energy waste. Some insulators also carry out sound insulation. Generally, insulation is executed according to precise work diagrams provided by the customer. Based on the diagrams, the insulator calculates which amount and type of material is most appropriate.

For example, when the mineral wool is first in place under the roof of the house, it is covered with cardboard, canvas or a plastic material.

AP Graduate in Construction Technology, Bachelor of Architectural Technology and Construction, Constructor. A person who completes the apprenticeship as EUX-apprentice is eligible to seek admission to an engineering or architectural education. The person is also entitled to secondary supplementary courses necessary to gain access to other, specific higher educations.
